Manish Malhotra has designed for many leading actresses in Bollywood. He is known for his different style and his ability to envision a 'look' for the character. He is most probably known for designing the costumes for Urmila Matondkar in the film Rangeela. Stars including Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Aishwarya Rai, and Preity Zinta have all worn his designs. Although he usually designs for women, he designed for Shahrukh Khan in Mohabbatein. He was also asked to design clothes for Michael Jackson when he visited India for a Bollywood show.
His designs were worn by Kareena Kapoor in the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). He designed for Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na (2004), Kajol in Fanaa and he has designed for Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta in the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006). He showcased his new collection in April 2006 at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai. Kajol and Preity Zinta, actresses who are friends of the designer, walked the runway for him. He also has designed Kareena Kapoor's wedding outfits. Not only has he designed costumes for Bollywood stars but he has also styled and designed costumes for Hollywood celebrities such as Demi Moore, Kylie Minogue, Reese Witherspoon, Karolina Kurkova, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. And as requested by many of you guys, our attention this week is directed to India, where fashion designer Manish Maholtra rules over Bollywood, bridal, and celebrity fashion. Pronounced Ma-neesh Muhl-ho-tra, this Indian designer utilizes traditional bright colors as well as sparkling embellishments in his collections. From the looks of it, this hot new designer’s career going nowhere but up.

Bollywood aside, Manish Malhotra has styled Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team 'Kolkata Knight Riders', created a line of footwear for Metro Shoes, and may be the only designer to have his own television show. Mauritian brand 'Thomas Scott' chose Malhotra to endorse their range of shirts and Balaji Telefilms signed him to design the look for 'Mahabharata'.
The 'Manish Malhotra' diffusion and couture lines retails out of Aza, Ensemble, Evoluzione, Samsaara and Indiva in addition to flagships in Dubai and Mumbai. Additionally he has, in association with Sheetal Design Studio, unveiled a prĂȘt collection titled 'The Enchanted Ensemble.' When asked about his current body of work, he told us, "I'm working on 'I Hate Love Stories' with Imran and Sonam, where her look is all about gorgeous summer dresses teamed with Dior resort bags. I'm also working on 'Anjaana Anjaani' with Priyanka and Ranbir; parts of it are based in New York and San Francisco so her look is going to be grunge and edgy-glamour!"
